Dr Samoon reviews progress achieved under deliverables, SHG trainings for SDD

Srinagar: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr.AsgarSamoon, Tuesday chaired a review meeting on progress achieved under deliverables, SHG trainings for the department of Skill Development.
Among others Managing Director, JKPCC, Managing Director NRLM, Additional Secretary Education, Secretary Service Selection Board, Secretary JK BOTE, SEO NSDC, Joint Director Planning, FA/CAO, Deputy Director (Planning) and other concerned attended the meeting.
Principal Secretary called upon the participants to expedite pace of progress on various issues like skill training of 13000 COVID warriors in health sector and their accreditation by NSDC/ MDSE, funding @ Rs 10 crore each for 2 model ITIs; one each at Jammu and Srinagar for better infrastructure, placements and industry partnership, submission of pending UCs under CSSs, admissions in Government Polytechnics through JKBOTE, training of 6000 SHGs registered with NRLM/Tribal Affairs, signing of MoUs with Art of Living Foundation for establishment of 2 Centres of Excellence in Electrical and Renewable Solar energy at Government ITIs of Srinagar and Kathua, assessment of Job placements from Polytechnics and ITIs over the last 2 years, inclusive “Skill mapping” of youth in schools, ITIs, Polytechnics, colleges and tribal areas/ disadvantaged youth through UNICEF, funding @ Rs 2 crore per district and improve skilling scenario under SANKALP (CSS) in 8 inspirational border districts including Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri, Samba, Kathua, Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora, Capacity building programmes for faculty outside J&K, complete implementation of world bank funded CSS STRIVE, utilization of CAPEX/CSS budget to complete new and ongoing civil works including machinery and equipment.
Samoon instructed JKPCC to submit the work done details of projects executed by them besides ensuring completion of incomplete polytechnics before the set deadlines so that students can avail maximum benefit of schemes and projects of Skill Development Department.
