DDC Kupwara reviews progress under ADP

Officers asked to ensure saturation of all indicators, conduct joint awareness camps block/village level

Kupwara: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir Tuesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of Aspirational District Programme (ADP).
The DDC took detailed review of all indicators one by one and received feedback on the status of the projects/schemes being carried out in the ADP and directed the concerned executing agencies to ensure saturation of all indicators.
He was informed that Kupwara district received PM’s Award of Excellence on April 21, 2022 under Aspiration District Programme for the achievements made during the year 2020-21. The district was also conferred Gold Medal by Union Health Minister on March 24 this year for achieving more than 60 percent reduction in TB notification.
The DDC said that Kupwara is one of the Aspirational districts among 117 districts in the country chosen by NITI AYOG in January 2018. He was informed that various indicators particularly health sector have been saturated while as, some other indicators yet have greater scope for saturation.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to ensure 100 percent saturation in all indicators and gave them timeline for achieving the target.
Khalid Jahangir asked officers to work with more promptness and dedication so that the district Kupwara would become number one of the districts in the country with regard to the implementation of all indicators of the Aspiration district.
Regarding the financial inclusion and skill development, the DDC stressed upon the officers to ensure joint awareness camps comprising of bankers and line departments at block level as well as village level and register the beneficiaries under various centrally sponsored schemes including Jan DhanYojna, Atal Pension Yojna, Aadhaar Seedling, Golden Card, Soil Health Cards and other schemes of the government for its saturation.
The DDC directed officers to visit border and remote areas like Karnah, Keran, Machill, Jamagund and Kumkadi jointly and saturate all indicators of ADP including ICDS, Agriculture, Health and other indicators.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kupwara, JD Planning, ACD, ACP, CEO, Executive Engineers and other concerned officers.
