DDC G’bal inspects progress on Pandach-Beehama road widening

DC also discusses remedial measures for traffic mgmt

G’bal: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir Tuesday took whirlwind tour of the Pandach-Beehama road widening to inspect the pace and progress of work on prestigious project.
During inspection, the Ex. Engineer R&B briefed the DDC about the pace and progress of work on the project besides discussed the layout plan for Pandach-Beehama road with the concerned and took a comprehensive review of development works including macadamization on widening stretch.
The DDC directed the Ex. Engineer R&B to complete the macadamization/patching work from Pandach to Beehama at an earliest so that commuters may not suffer. He further stressed that macadamization on other roads shall be taken up, prioritizing the main roads so that macdamization is completed within the stipulated time.
Keeping in view the importance of road widening from Pandach-Beehama, the DDC directed the Ex. Engineer R&B to clear the bottle necks, if any, which are hampering the progress of project at an earliest so that widening this prestigious road stretch is completed at an earliest.
While inspecting the execution of work on vital project, the DDC emphasized for synchronization among all concerned departments and directed the officers to shift the utilities so that widening work of the project is completed at earliest for the benefit of commuters as it will provide smooth traffic management in district Ganderbal.
Taking strict note of traffic choking on the Pandach-Beehama stretch, the DDC directed the Dy.SP traffic to take immediate remedial measures including erecting barricades and traffic diversion on choking points like Nagbal and Duderhama especially during peak hours for the smooth flow of traffic.
On the occasion, the DDC also sought suggestion/remedial measures including development of alternative road from SSP Office via District Hospital from the concerned departments for streamlining traffic in the town.
During the visit, the DDC was accompanied by ACR, Baseer Ahmad, executive engineer, R&B, Tehsildar Ganderbal, DySP HQ, DySP Traffic and other concerned officials of the district.
