Youngsters to act as ambassadors against Drug addiction: DC B’pora

B’pora : Deputy Commissioner BandiporaDr.Owais Ahmed Saturday flagged off a bike rally of 50 bikers to Gurez from Mini SecretariateBandipora under NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drugs-free India)
SSP Bandipora Mohammad Zahid, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Bandipora Bilal Ahmed, District Social Welfare Officer Bandipora (DSWO) Ubaidulkhazir and other senior officers from District Administration were also present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner BandiporaDr.Owais Ahmed said along with enjoying the beauty, such events promotes tourist destinations like Gurez. He said Saturday’s Bike rally has the dual purpose of promoting tourism activities in Gurez Valley as well as creating awarenessregarding drug abuse.
He said the rally is conducted under NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan to make Bandipora drug free and urged youngsters to be ambassadors against drug addiction.
DC said the bikers on the waywill interact with the youth and children to create awareness regarding drug abuse.He said open discussion on such issues helps to eradicate the menace.
He urged the bikers to be aware people on the way to Gurez and conduct awareness at Dawar also.
Dr.Owais said all misconceptions regarding selective impacts ofsocial evils need to be eradicated by educating the youngsters regarding the potential of these sins to engulf the whole society.
He also congratulated the team for conducting the rally in the district.
SSP Bandipora Mohd Zahid in his address said youngsters have a great influence on societyin building a well-developed nation.
He urged all participants to be an inspiration for youngsters in avoiding drugs and participate in various social-friendly activities includingsports.
Speaking on the occasion DSWO UbaidulKhazir said that last year district administration conducted a number of eventsto awarevarious stakeholdersregarding Drug abuse and its ramifications.
He said in future administration will also organise awarenessprogrammes in schools.
Speaking on the occasion, President Super Bikers Club Nasir Ahmad said the rally is purely conductedto promote tourism in Gurez valley and to aware people regarding drug abuse. He also thanked district administration Bandipora for organising the bike rally and lauded the efforts of Deputy Commissioner forparticipating in such events which are meant for welfare of the whole society.
