Prof. Khadeeja Priyan visits CoET BGSBU, delivers Motivational Lecture on “Recent Advances and Trends in Civil Engineering”

Rajouri : Prof. Khadeeja Priyan , Professor and Head Civil Engineering Department, G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology Gujrat visited the college of Engineering and Technology, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University interacted with Faculty members, research scholars and students. Prof Asif Husain, Dean and Principal, College of Engineering and Technology welcomed and introduced her to faculty members and research scholars. She discussed regarding New Education Policy (NEP) and how to make the syllabus relevant to the industry. Discussion related to curriculum and research activities in Civil Engineering was held. She motivated the faculty and research scholars for research and adaptation to new tools and technologies. She discussed with research scholars their research activities and motivated them to use remote sensing and GIS for their research work. She Talked about different research tools and software’s available for research in the field of water resource engineering. After discussion with faculty members and research scholars, motivational Lecture on “Recent Advances and Trends in Civil Engineering” was delivered by Prof. Khadeeja Priyan for students of Civil Engineering Branch, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. She addressed the students regarding recent advances and modern technologies available for civil engineering students. She emphasised on the tremendous growth & achievements of Civil Engineers around the world and impressed up on the students to understand the latest developments in Civil Engineering. She stressed on how GIS can be used by civil engineering students in their research work and motivated the students to address the challenges faced by humanity today because of climate change and global warming. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Parvez Alam, Coordinator of Dept of Civil Engineering. Prof Asif Husain, Dean and Principal, College of Engineering and Technology delivered vote of thanks. Prof Asif Husain thanked Prof. Khadeeja Priyan for delivering the motivational lecture and interacting with faculty members and research scholars.
