Jt Director Agriculture (K) visits Potato Seed Multiplication Farm Allowpora Shopian

Shopian :Joint Director Agriculture, Kashmir, Farooq Ahmed Bhat Saturday visited Potato Seed Multiplication Farm Allowpora, Shopian.
The Joint Director visited different sections of the farm during which he was briefed by concerned officers about the latest initiatives and interventions that are being practiced at the farm.
By exploring the potential of this sector, he said, we could not only become self-reliant in seed requirement of J&K but can export seed to the other states of the country.
Meanwhile, the Joint Director highlighted the importance of quality seed for a successful cropping season and asked the concerned officers to adopt all the real time technologies for a healthy virus free potato seeds.
Later, Joint Director Agriculture interacted with the growers and the farmers of the district.
He assured them that the department is committed for the upliftment of the farmers besidesdirected the concern Agriculture officer to organize the training programs in the area and educate the farmers regarding latest agricultural trends.
Meanwhile, Chief Agriculture Officer, Shopian, Farooq Ahmed Reshi also presided over Potato Seed Multiplication Farm Sedow where farmers were given awareness of latest technology and scientific know-how by the experts to double the farmers income.
