Youth inspired dev a catalyst of change ,prosperity: DC Pulwama

Pulwama|May, 12: Youth act as catalysts of change and development besides play a vital role in transforming societies into progressive and prosperous ones, said the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, BaseerUlHaq while addressing thousands of youth in a programme under the banner ,‘Vision Pulwama 2047 –Be the Change’.
He reiterated his commitment to transform Pulwama into a self-reliant economy besides envisioning its youth as leaders of the future.
The program was organised by the District Administration Pulwama where the officers of the district headed by the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama BaseerUlHaqChoudhary had an interaction session with the participants at Nikas.
Youth from all age groups participated in the event which witnessed unprecedented participation. The aim of the programme was to create a connection between youth and civil administration besides addressing the issues and challenges being faced by youth on a daily basis.
Officers from various Rural Development Department deliberated on issues like Self-employment, Entrepreneurship, changing rural economy and livelihoods. Issues like drug addiction and substance abuse were also discussed.
Later, youth from Nikas and adjoining areas raised various demands besides put forth their pending issues.
Demands like setting up of well-equipped health centre, Children’s parks, Open air gym and public library were raised by the youth of Nikas
Youth from adjoining areas of Arihal, Arigam, and Gaberpora raised demands like health infrastructure, Sporting facilities and repairs of damaged roads.
The DC while listening to the grievances issued spot instructions to the concerned officers for their early redressal and assured the participants for positive outcomes.
Senior Officers from administration including Additional District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Assistant Commissioner Development, and Assistant Commissioner Panchayat participated in the event.
