Narcotics smuggling bid foiled, 3 arrested

Jammu: The joint team of police and Army on Thursday foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics with the arrest of three persons in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said that in tandem with the Army, a narcotics smuggling bid was foiled in Dharana area of Mendhar sub division and three persons were arrested with one vehicle, Rs 19, 740/- cash and 25 grams of heroin.

During routine checking, police and Army intercepted a vehicle and recovered cash and narcotics from the possession of Imtiaz Ahmed of Gohlad, Mendhar, Mohd Gafoor of Deri Debsi, Mendhar and Mohd Javid of Deri Debsi, Mendhar.
A case has been registered under relevant sections and investigation has started, police said.
