Srinagar : Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather Thursday hailed the contribution of nurses on International Nurses Day serving in all the hospitals across Kashmir.
The day is held to commemorate birth anniversary of “Florence Nightingale” pioneer of modern nursing and this years’ theme is “Nurses- A Voice to Lead- Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health”.
Dr MA Rather in his message lauded the nursing workforce for their dedication and commitment in delivering patient services especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The contribution of frontline workers including our doctors, nurses and other medical staff amid the Covid-19 pandemic is unparalleled,” he said.
Dr MA Rather said they have been working tirelessly day and night and they also had to deal with lack of essential items as they struggled to save lives and take care of Covid-19 patients.
“This is the better occasion to highlight the contribution of our nursing fraternity around the world every year on May 12,” he said.
