DC Ang reviews Sanitation for amaranth Yatra , IEC, Livelihood Plan

Anantnag : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr PiyushSingla Thursdayheld a detailed meeting here to discuss the sanitation, livelihood and IEC activity plan for SANJY-2022.
A detailed discussion was held regarding availability and capacity of Langar space, parking areas and Common Sanitary Complexes on the route taken by Yatries.
Various CSCs under construction were also discussed and directions were issued to concerned implementing agencies to ensure that the CSCs are functional and water connections have been installed. The DC also said that reflective signages should be installed at toilets to ensure nocturnal visibility. Further, mobile toilets which may be deployed as required will also be kept available.
The BDOs were directed to ensure that the CSCs are painted, necessary signages erected and manpower deployed for maintenance of CSCs.
Dr Singla emphasized that sanitary langar spaces and adequate parking places are being set up at all transit camps. Further, water supply arrangements at transit camps were also discussed and SE Jal Shakti was directed to ensure that adequate supply is available for yatries halting at the camps.
A thorough discussion about the sanitation plan for Pahalgam was undertaken. The officials were directed by the DC to ensure that adequate manpower is deployed and all waste should be scientifically disposed-off. Special mechanism for sanitation inside Nunwan and Chandanwari base camps was also deliberated upon and the chair was apprised of progress in this regard.
Regarding IEC activities, a detailed plan was discussed with inputs from all concerned municipalities and blocks. Welcome messages and banners by panchayats falling on the route will be erected. Further, signages at regular intervals and banners with informative content will be erected at regular intervals.
Dr Singla emphasized that cleanliness must be maintained on the route. He further said that SANJY is an important event where lakhs of yatries will visit the district and innovative IEC material may be displayed at conspicuous places to reflect our culture and spirit of hospitality.
The DC said that SANJY also provides opportunities for the artisans and entrepreneurs to display the craft and products. He said that space will be identified along the route where self-help groups and artisans can display and sell their products. He said it would increase the market presence of our local crafts and augment the livelihood generation for the stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by ADC, CPO, SE Jal Shakti, Ex Engineer Jal Shakti, SDM Dooru, ACR, ACD, ACP, BDOs of Khoveripora, Pahalgam, Anantnag and Qazigund besides EOs among other officials.
