Public Darbar held at Jawalapora Budgam

ADDC calls for holistic development of the entire area

Budgam : The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Budgam, Dr AkramullahTak Wednesday chaired a public darbar at PanchayatHalqaJawalapora in Block Waterhail.
At the outset various PRIs, village elders and others respected from Jawalapora, Gojra, Sandipora, Hewuddur and other adjoining villages of Block Waterhail raised their issues and demands with the ADDC and demanded timely resolution.
The issues and demands raised by the locals included development of roads, name change of High School Shogpora to HS Jawalapora, creation of additional halqa, facility of J&K Bank Branch, road development up to Doodhpathri, JawalaporaGojra Road, Shalakote Road, compensation to farmers, playground facility for local youth and facilities of Horticulture and Agriculture centres.
The locals also demanded construction of bridges, PMGSY road connectivity for adjoining villages, timber depot and PHC centre besides playground facilities for local youths in the area.
They also demanded up-gradation of schools, improvement in HT, LT lines and health facilities, macadamization, tap water supply to all households and construction of various other roads.
The ADDC called for the holistic development of the area and emphasized that work on all ongoing projects be expedited to ensure timely completion.
He also emphasized on cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in the area.
The ADDC informed that various JJM works have been approved to ensure improvement in the tap water supply to all the habitations in the area and added that under JJM, projects worth Rs. 1200 crore shall be executed to provide tap water supply across the district.
He instructed Panchayat members to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in all panchayat blocks of Waterhail and urged PRIs to ensure that people ensure a ban on use of one-time plastic items and dumping of garbage roadside and in open areas. He said that instead they use separate dustbins for proper disposal of garbage generated daily by the households.
Among others, Dy. CMO, BMO, Tehsildar, Executive Engineers from various Engineering Wings, district heads of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and other concerned officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
