DC B’pora visits Gurez Valley, reviews developmental activities, attends Block Diwas at Tulail

Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Wednesday visited far flung areas of Gurez valley to review the developmental activities and to take stock of the services being provided to the the people in various sectors besides attending Block Diwas in Tulail Valley.
DDC member from Tulail Raja Ajaz, SDM Gurez, Army officers and concerned officers and officials accompanied Dr Owais during the tour.
He visited several areas of the Gurez and Tulail valley and conducted on-spot inspection of various works besides meeting people to get the feedback and first hand appraisal of delivery of services.
Dr Owais also attended Block Diwas at BudugamTulail and listened to the Public Grievances. People raised issues of Public interest including road connectivity, Electricity, Water Supply, dearth of Staff in Education sector, Transport facility, theestablishment of LPG Depot in Tulail, additional Fire Service Station, Healthcare services and other related issues.
People appreciated the efforts of the District Administration for providing mobile and internet connectivity in the farflung areas, and also requested for coverage in few left out areas including Kashpad village besides improving signal in existing area.
They also appreciated the efforts for the promotion of tourism activities in Gurez due to which there has been a significant increase in the tourist footfall this year. It was also given out that electricity is being provided to all the villages and Habitats as per the approved schedule and work on Dawar-Tulail Road which is being executed by BRO is also in progress and will be expedited.
The DC also tookstock of availability of Ration to the people at Puranatulail. It was given out that sufficient quantity of ration is available at all ration depots and there is no shortage as such. He gave patient hearing to the people and passed on-spot direction in various matters and assured other demands will also be looked into on priority basis. He also appreciated the role played by PRIs in the developmental process.
Dr Owais also participated in the concluding ceremony of the sports festival. While speaking on the occasion, heexpressed satisfaction over handsome participation of youngsters in sports activities.
He said the district administration is keen to give a flip to the sports sector and promote sports activities across the district. He said special focus shall be laid on promotion of sports in Gurez Valley besides making special arrangements for winter sports as people get less chance of doing any physical exercise during harsh winters. He said Gurez Valley has a huge potential for Winter sports and a joint plan will be devised to give opportunity to the local youth to showcase their talent in winter sports. He assured the introduction of more games including training boys and girls in winter sports.
Dr Owais also inaugurated 15 KV Gen set for PHC Budugam and visited Tehsil office Tulail to review the functioning of the government offices.
While reviewing the developmental activities in various villages, Dr Owais asked the officers to expedite the works so as to complete the works well before time keeping in view the limited working season of the Gurez Valley.
