Police observe Thana Diwas at Police Station Chadoora

Budgam : As a part of J&K Government’s public outreach programme, Police in Budgam have observed “Thana Diwas” at Police Station Chadoora.
According to a police statement, the event was chaired by SDPO Charar-I-Sharief Salim Jahangir along withDySP PC Chadoora Mohammad Anzar Shah and SHO PS Chadoora. The meeting was attended by respectable citizens of Chadoora area including Sarpanchs, Panchs, Numberdars and Chowkidars of different villages falling within the JD of PS Chadoora.
The main aim for conducting the “Thana Diwas” was to provide awareness of drug de-addiction among the youth and cooperation of general public was sought in eradicating the social evils prevailing in the society particularly menace of drugs. Charing officers also highlighted the role of Panchayati Raaj Institutions and said that PRIs have a greater role in social development and reformation.
During interaction, chairing officer stressed upon the participants to co-operate with Police and administration in maintaining L&O, curbing drug menace in the area and in identifying anti-national/anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment. Participants thanked Police for conducting such meetings and for developing a bridge of trust among police and public and requested for regular conduct of such programmes in future as well
Absconding Patwari’s associate arrested from Digiana, Jammu : Police
Jammu : Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Tuesday said that it trapped and arrested associate of Patwari, Halqa, Digiana, Jammu while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 15,000 for issuance of Fard Intkhab on behalf of absconding Patwari.
According to an official statement issued on Tuesday the Jammu & Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau (J&K ACB) had received a complaint alleging that Arish Parvaiz, Patwari halqa Digiana through his associate Jatinder Kumar alias Jatin is demanding bribe amounting to Rs 15,000 from the complainant for issuance of Fard Intakab.
“The complainant alleged that his brother-in-law intends to sell a piece of land comprising 6.6 marla falling under khasra No. 150-min situated at Dashmesh Nagar, Gangyal, Jammu and has applied for the issuance of Fard Intakab. Patwari, halka Gangyal namely Arish Parvaiz did not provide the same despite fulfilling all the formalities. Since his brother-in-law resides at Akhnoor so he has asked the complainant to follow the same on his behalf with Patwari concerned. Complainant visited many times halka Patwari concerned and requested him to issue the Fard Intikhab but instead of issuing the fard the Patwari demanded ₹15000 from the complainant,” the statement said.
The associate of the Patwari Jatinder Kumar alias Jatin has also called the complainant number of times to pay the bribe money for issuance of the fard, it said, adding that on receipt of the instant complaint, prima facie offence U/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 r/w section 120-B IPC was found made out. Consequently, case FIR No. 04/2022 was registered in P/S ACB Central and investigation taken-up.
“During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted. The team caught associate of the Patwari Jatinder Kumar alias Jatin red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 15,000 from the complainant on behalf of Patwari Arish Parvaiz. He was arrested on the spot by the ACB team while the accused Arish Parvaiz fled from the spot. The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses. The patwari Arish Parvaiz is absconding and is still at large,” the statement said, adding that further investigation is going on
