Kulgam: The District Level Sanctioning Committee (DLSC) headed by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.BilalMohi-Ud-Din Bhat Tuesday sanctioned 298 cases in favour of poor girls as marriage assistance under State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS).
It was informed that the scheme is meant for those un-married identified girls living below the poverty line who may not find themselves in a position to marry due to financial constraint and will receive assistance under this scheme.
Under this scheme, all the marriageable identified poor girls will receive one time financial assistance of Rs.25000 and cost of 5 gms Gold for marriage purpose through DBT mode.
