DC Srinagar chairs meeting of the Governing Body of Rogi Kalyan Samiti

‘Over 2 lakh patients treated at AYUSH hospital Shalteng in last one year’

Srinagar : In order to review the functioning and patient care facilities available at Government Unani Hospital Shalteng and measures taken with respect to the facility up-gradation of the hospital, a meeting of Governing Body of “RogiKalyanSamiti”(RKS) was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex here, Tuesday.
The DC also took stock of the AYUSH treatments being provided to the patients at the Hospital and took a detailed review of the functioning of the Hospital, besides discussed threadbare the measures required with respect to future planning for up-gradation of the Hospital.
On the occasion, the DC, who is also the Chairman “RogiKalyanSamiti” was apprised about the progress and performance registered by the Institution under different indicators. He was also informed about various issues and demands meant for the infrastructure up-gradation and overall advancement of the healthcare system in the Hospital.
The DC assured all possible support from the Administration for infrastructure development of the Hospital to further improve patient care in the hospital. The committee also approved the purchase of equipment for the laboratory and IBT section under GFR by Hospital administration.
The DC directed the concerned to follow the objectives as envisaged in RKS guidelines and stressed for resource generation and strengthening transparent mechanism in utilization of funds.
The DC directed the concerned to identify the additional land for meeting the hospital requirements within 10 days. He also directed for exploring possibilities to provide electricity supply to hospital from essential feeder so that routine patient care facilities do not get affected.
The DC also provided Rs 5 lakh for construction of the hospital store.
The DC asked the officers to work with added zeal and dedication to ensure efficient and prompt health and patient care facilities to the people. He directed the concerned authorities to work on various necessities that are vital for upgrading basic infrastructure in the hospital and directed the In-Charge Medical Superintendent to submit the detailed Project Report for execution of infrastructure development.
Earlier, the Incharge Medical superintendent informed that more than 2 lakh patients have been treated in the hospital during the last one year. He also projected a proposal for approval regarding engagement of man-power on outsourcing basis for the smooth functioning of the hospital.
The meeting among others was attended by Joint Commissioner, SMC, Syed AbulQasim, Chief Planning Officer, Srinagar, and Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Deputy Director Indian systems of Medicine Dr.GhulamHyder Shah, District AYUSH Officer Srinagar Dr.RukhsanaJabeen, and In-Charge Medical Superintendent Govt. Unani Hospital ShaltengDr. Mohammad Farooq Naqshbandi.
