Rajouri: CPO reviews progress on repair of handpumps

Rajouri : Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid, on the directions of the District Development Commissioner, VikasKundal Monday reviewed the progress regarding the repair of defunct handpumps in the district through a virtual mode meeting.
The CPO reviewed the status of ongoing repair work and the progress achieved in this regard as of now wherein the concerned officers briefed about the same.
It was also informed that the list of hundred defunct handpumps has been received and the repair work on these handpumps was in progress.
The CPO said that there are a number of handpumps in the district which need immediate repair to provide drinking water facilities to the general public during scorching summers.
4 Day campaign on “save our Mother Earth” culminates at Govt Middle School KainthSawjian
Poonch : Government Middle School KainthSawjian Zone Mandi Monday hosted a Valedictory function to mark the end of four day campaign on “save our Mother Earth.”
The campaign was conducted in collaboration with 51 A wildlife conservation and Research Foundation.
Vice Principal Model Higher Secondary School SawjianSarfraz Ahmad was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
While addressing the audience, Teacher Parampreet Singh shared his views about the purpose, aims & objectives of the campaign. He said that the four day event witnessed a series of activities including slogan writing competition and a Rally March organised to encourage the people to contribute towards a sustainable environment.
Students sensitized the people through slogans and interaction in local dialect.
Chief Guest Sarfraz Ahmed congratulated the staff for this wonderful awareness programme in this remote area and encouraged the staff to hold such kinds of programs in future also.
Others present included Manzoor Ahmed, ZarinaParveen, Mohd Akram, Abdul Ahad, MukhtarBanday and Abdul Majid. At the end, teacher Imran Khan thanked all the participants and guests.
