Police observe Thana Diwas at Police Station G’bal

Ganderbal : As a part of J&K Government’s public outreach program, Police in Ganderbal have observed “Thana Diwas” at Police Station Ganderbal.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that the event was chaired by Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal Ghulam Hassan. The meeting was attended by Civil Society members, Traders Federation and Transporters etc. The meeting was also attended by officers of Civil Department and other officers of Police Department of district Ganderbal.
During the meeting, participants highlighted various issues of public importance. The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and the issues related to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
While speaking on the occasion, the chairing officer reiterated that the main aim of organising ‘Thana Divas, is improve efficiency, transparency and accountability in policing at grass-root level in the district and to develop confidence among the people. The officer also added that Thana Diwas is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses and further added that Community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.
The participants were stressed to co-operate with Police in eradicating the drug menace from the district and in identifying anti-national and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment. The participants appreciated the role of police for conducting such interaction meeting and assured their full support & cooperation in curbing the menace of social evils of the society.
