DC Shopian tours villages in the distt

DM also takes on-spot assessment/ status of ongoing developmental works; listens to public at their doorsteps

Shopian : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Saturday took an extensive tour of various villages of the district including Adijan, Shamsipora, Kanjiuller, Kaprin and other villages.
During the visit, the DC said that the aim and objective of this visit is to have an on-spot assessment and status of ongoing developmental works presently under execution, besides to have firsthand appraisal of the ground situation of these areas relating to availability of basic amenities, essentials and also to listen to the demands and grievances that the population of these areas are presently facing.
The DC also made an inspection of Government Middle School Adijan and Government Primary School Shamsipora, interacted with the students and staff and emphasised upon the teachers and staff for punctuality.
Enroute, the DC interacted with the locals and some deputations from adjacent areas apprised him about various issues particularly related to improvement of roads, water supply, up gradation of health services, schools and establishing of animal and sheep husbandry units.
Responding to the issues and demands that the people of these villages raised, the DC once again reiterated that the district Administration is committed that such initiatives shall prove result oriented and fruitful for the common people.
Vaishya said that his top most priority shall be to address as many issues as he can that are within his domain without wasting any time.
The DC also assured the public that they themselves can feel the difference and shall witness results at grass roots level. He also added that the works under execution shall be completed before the onset of winters.
The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani and other officers.
