Samba : District Administration Samba under the chairperson of District Development Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, Saturday felicitated 9 beneficiaries of Goat units with 10 Does and one Buck provided to each out of the funds to the tune of Rs. 10.35 lakhs released under centrally sponsored Special Central Assistance to Scheduled Caste Sub plan (Revalidated) for the year 2021-22.
In addition to the Goat units, the beneficiaries have also been provided free canvas tarpaulin for creating temporary livestock shelters.
While interacting with the beneficiaries, the District Development Commissioner stressed upon them to rear the livestock sincerely to harvest maximum benefit out of the scheme and also advised them to disseminate the benefits of such scheme to other farmers as well.
District Sheep Husbandry officer Dr.SatishGangwal gave a brief account of the components and benefits of the scheme where under goat unit of 10 Does and 01 Buck has been provided free of cost under retrieval mode besides one canvas tarpaulin to each beneficiary as temporary livestock shelters in order to protect the young ones from inclement weather conditions. The DSHO also highlighted the benefits of the other schemes like integrated sheep Development Scheme, Tribal Sub Plan being implemented by the department and added that the 52 units were established in the year 2021-22 in District Samba.
