11 gamblers held, stake money recovered in two separate cases in Sgr: Police

Srinagar: Acting on specific information Police party from PS Nowgam raided Gambling Site at Summerbugh during which 04 gamblers were apprehended.

From the Site Stake money of *Rs 20,490/-* was seized on spot and playing cards have been seized.

In this regard FIR No.63/2022 U/S 13 gambling Act have been have been registered in Police Station Nowgam and investigation taken up.

Similarly, On a tip off that some persons are engaged in Gambling at Fruit Mandi, police party of Police Station Parimpora was deputed and following persons involved in gambling namely:
1) Ghulam Nabi Gabru Mohd hd sultan, R/o Barzulla, 2) Mohd Saleem Malla s/o Abdul Rahman , R/o Gulshan Abad Bemina, 3) Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh s/o Ali Mohd
R/o Shaheedjung , 4) Nazir Ahmad Mir, s/o khazir Mohd Mir, R/o Barthana qamarwari were apprehended.

From stake Money of *Rs 24,700/-* and play cards were recovered from their possession.

Acting tip off, Police Party of PS Panthachowk raided gambling site at Bongam Khanmoh during which 03 gamblers were arrested namely:
1.Ghulam Nabi Bhat, S/o Shabir Bhat, R/o Bingam Khunmoh.
2. Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh, S/o Assadullah Sheikh, R/o Sheikh Mohalla Khunmoh, 3. Sajad Ahmad Bhat, S/o Abdul Gani Bhat, R/o Sheikh Mohalla Khunmoh.

Stake money Rs. 21700/- and playing cards also sized from the spot. Cognisance taken, case registered in PS Panthachowk, Investigation going on.

In this regard Case FIR 109 /22 U /s 13 Gambling Act Registered in PS Parimpora and investigation taken up.

This is continuation to efforts of Srinagar Police so to curb the social crimes and immoral activities.(KNS)
