LeT’s Hybrid militant held in Kulgam: Police

Kulgam: Police on Sunday said that it has arrested a hybrid militant of LeT militant outfit in Kulgam and also recovered incriminating materials, arms & ammunition from his possession.
In a statement issued on Sunday police said that on specific inputs Kulgam Police along with 34RR arrested one hybrid militant of LeT militant outfit identified as YaminYousuf Bhat son of Mohd Yousuf Bhat resident of Gadihama.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested hybrid militant was in contact with Pakistan based militants as well as local militantsof LeT militant outfit and was tasked to execute militant incident”, said police in it’s statement, adding therein that “the said hybrid militant was also involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the militants including transportation of arms/ammunition and explosive material of the militants in district Kulgam”.
Police in it’s statement also said that the arrest of the said hybrid militant is an achievement for Police, as the said militant was well aware about the topography of the district and it was easy for him to choose soft targets.
Stating further that incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 pistol, 01 pistol magazine, 51 rounds of 9mm and 02 hand grenades were recovered from his possession, Police in its statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 57/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated. More arrests and recoveries are expected in the instant case.
