3 vehicles seized in Budgam for illegal mining and extraction of minerals: Police

Budgam: Police on Sunday said that it has seized 03 vehicles for illegal mining and extraction of minerals in budgam.
In a statement issued on Sunday police said that a police party from Police Station Khansahib intercepted and seized 03 vehicles (02 tippers & one JCB) for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals but the accused drivers managed to escape from the spot leaving behind the vehicles.
Stating that the accused have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganie son of Mohd Sultan resident of Sholipora Budgam Shahid Ahmad Ganie son of Abdul Ahad resident of Sholipora Budgam Muneer Ahmad Bhat son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat resident of Parisabad, Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 51/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation has been also set into motion.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and urged residents of the area to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
