Shopian Admin finalises arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr

Shopian : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Saturday reviewed and finalised the arrangements for the forthcoming auspicious occasion of Eid ulFitr at a joint meeting of officers, here.
On the occasion, the DC directed the concerned officers to ensure availability of adequate drinking water, power, mutton, poultry, ration and LPG in the district besides other essential items in markets.
The meeting was informed that a sufficient quantity of essential items including ration, fish, mutton and chicken besides LPG gas is available for public consumption.
Meanwhile, the DC directed officers to ensure adequate supply of drinking water and electricity at peak hours of the festival besides to ensure tanker facility at the venue of Eid Namaz.
Municipal authorities were directed to conduct sanitation and cleanliness drives around the Mosques, Shrines and Eidgahs. They were also directed to ensure the clearing of building material from roads for hassle free movement of devotees.
Regarding the transport facility for the devotees visiting shrines/mosques for congregational prayers, the DC directed the concerned officials to ensure that the devotees do not face any inconvenience. He directed for regulating the traffic and ensuring parking of vehicles at designated places on a rational basis.
During the meeting, the SSP informed that foolproof security arrangements have been put in place for the smooth and hassle-free religious congregations/procession during the occasion.
The designated enforcement teams were asked to conduct market checking to ensure that no sub-standard articles are sold in the market.
Necessary directions were also given to the Fire & Emergency Services and Health department to ensure their services.
The meeting was attended by SSP Shopian, Amritpaul Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani and concerned officers.
