Srinagar : The Enforcement Wing of Lake Conservation & Management Authority Saturday conducted a demolition drive in the area of Nigeen, Shahdadbagh, LashkariMohalla NFR, Friends Colony, Nowpora and WFR.
During the drive, two Blocks, three 2nd stories and one single storey were demolished which were raised illegally by some unscrupulous elements taking the advantage of Government Holiday.
The LCMA authorities informed that there is zero tolerance for illegal constructions/encroachments, besides no laxity or dereliction of the duty on part of field staff is being tolerated. Recently two watchers of the Nigeen site have been placed under suspension for showing callous approach towards their assigned duties.
All the public residing within the LCMA jurisdiction & in lake are hereby once again directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions/ encroachments taking the undue advantage of Govt Holidays, as the Enforcement wing will continue its demolition drives of illegal constructions/ removal of encroachments and will continue to initiate legal action against the violators.
Moreover, the Tipper/Load carrier owners are advised not to carry / ferry any construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/ Nigeen Lake without getting proper permission and in case anybody is found shall be dealt with as per law. Also, CCTV Cameras have been installed in order to curb the transportation of illegal building material in the LCMA jurisdiction.
