FCS&CA recovers a fine of Rs 60,400 from erring shopkeepers in Srinagar

Srinagar : The Enforcement squad of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department Saturday recovered a fine of Rs60400.00 from 12 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
The action was taken by the team of FCS&CA under the leadership of Assistant Director Enforcement Mushtaq Ahmad Wani during market checking drive of various areas of Srinagar City including HabaKadal, Tankipora, Hawal, Residency Road, Rawalpora, BasantBagh, Mahraj Bazar, H.S.H Street etc.
During market checking, 187 business establishments were inspected. The action was taken by the team of FCS&CA after receiving complaints from different sections of society regarding illegal enhancement of rates by the shopkeepers
Moreover, the erring lot has been reprimanded to remain careful in future. The drive will continue in the same passion in future as well & whosoever found violating the norms will be brought to justice. In case of any complaint, people may contact the toll free number 18001807011.
