Pulwama : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, BaseerUlHaqChoudhary Saturday reviewed and finalised the arrangements for the forthcoming auspicious occasion of Eid ulFitr at a joint meeting of officers of different line departments, here.
Several issues especially the availability of water supply at the designated places, uninterrupted power supply, adequate supply of ration, quality and rates checking of eatables, proper sanitation during the celebration were discussed in the meeting.
The DC directed the officers of FCS&CA to complete the process of ration distribution for the month before Eid and ensure no household is left without ration in the district, especially in far-off areas.
He asked them to devise an effective mechanism to avoid any kind of inconvenience at ration stores and ensure a hassle free distribution process.
With regard to power and water supply, the DC asked Jal Shakti and PDD to take adequate measures for uninterrupted supply of water and electricity in all areas to avoidinconvenience to the people.
The DC also enjoined upon officers to intensify market checking to ensure that people get quality commodities at Government fixed rates.
He directed the concerned enforcement wing to keep strict check on quality and rates of mutton, Chicken, Fruit, Vegetables, Bakery and other essentials to curb hoardings and profiteering.
The DC also directed for maintaining cleanliness in all Jamia Masjids, Eidgahs and other areas in the district.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SE, PDD, PHE, ARTO, AD FCS&CA, Tehsildars, EO Municipalities, and other line departments were also present in the meeting.
