Jammu Chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CCI) on Saturday demanded a power curtailment plans for Industries in Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement issued on Saturday the Jammu Chapter CCI said that power crisis is impacting the industries across Jammu and Kashmir, stating therein further that manufacturers are running out of capacity to absorb the long power cuts and the unscheduled curtailment is severely impacting the industries.
Stating that pattern if continued could severely dent the economic ecosystem across J&K, Jammu based CII in it’s statement further said “ the Continuous power shutdowns are not only affecting the daily lives of citizens but have impacted the industries across J&K”, adding that “we understand the power sector across India is facing difficult times but our humble submission to the government is to come out with scheduled power curtailment plans and the same should be followed by the PDD department across J&K. This will help industries adequately plan their backup”.
The Jammu based CCI also said that “While we understand the challenging situation the government is facing in terms of power procurement, it is equally important to ensure the least possible effect on industries in general and the public at large”, adding that “We are hopeful that the administration of J&K will take all necessary steps on an urgent basis in the coming days to provide relief to industries in J&K”.
