Burglary case solved in Kupwara, accused arrested: Police

Kupwara : Police on Friday said that it has solved a burglary case in Kupwara and also arrested an accused person involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen cash from his possession.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said “police post Bazar Kupwara received a complaint from Intekhab Aalam Bhat of Gani Mohalla Baramulla wherein it was alleged that during the intervening night of 27-28th April, some unknown burglars have barged his shop situated at Kupwara and stolen away cash present in the shop”.
Police in its statement further said that a case FIR number 98/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kupwara and investigation was started.
Stating further that during the course of investigation, a special investigation police team led by IC Police Post Bazar was constituted, police in it’s statement further said that using all available means, officers zeroed in on a suspect identified as Mohd Shahid Salmani son of Abdul Aziz Salmani resident of Bijnour Uttar Pradesh A/P running a barber shop at Hajaj Market Kupwara. “When officers spoke to him they learnt about his involvement in the commission of crime and his disclosure, stolen cash ₹1,53,880 has been recovered from his possession”, reads the above referred police statement, adding that “the said accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where remain in custody and further investigation of the case is going on to find out his possible involvement in other criminal cases”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appreciated efforts of the investigation team in cracking the burglary cases and resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities.
