Gram Swaraj Month: Mega block Diwas held in 3 blocks of Kulgam

DC presides over grievances redressal camp at D.H.Pora, redresses scores of issues on spot

K’gam : To take governance at the doorsteps of people and to take first hand appraisal of issues and grievances for redressal, the District Administration Kulgam Wednesday organized a Mega Block Diwas in 3 blocks of the district.
During the programme, several functions were held at Devsar, Kulgam and D. H. Pora blocks of the district and on the occasion officers and officials from line departments listened to the issues, grievances and demands of the public for their timely redressal.
Meanwhile, to take first hand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.BilalMohi-Ud-Din Bhat remained available at block D.H.Pora where he listened to grievances and issues of people for redressal.
At the outset of the programme at D.H.Pora, ACD Kulgam Mohmmad Imran Khan gave a detailed overview of action taken on the issues and grievances raised in previous Block Diwas.
He also added that in Tehsil D.H.Pora administration has retrieved 90 kanals of encroached land in the last one month which is to be utilized for development of play fields and other developmental works.
People from Nagam, Nandimarg, Yarikhah, D.K.Marg, Dainipora, Ahmadabad, Laisoo, Koursarbal and other adjoining areas participated in the programme.
The delegations demanded Desilting of DhamDham Irrigation Canal at Ahmadabad, augmentation of water supply scheme and a new Playfield in the village. Another delegation from Khull demanded to start History subject in Higher Secondary school and also raised demand for commissioning of power transformer at Adpora.
People from Nandimarg flagged-off a demand to construct a new road from JoggimargNandimarg to Dadren besides another delegation from K.B.porademadeddesilting of YariKanal.
PRI members also put forth various issues and grievances of their areas for redressal. They also raised several developmental issues and requirements of their areas.
Officers on spot responded to the queries and issues pertaining to their departments.
The DC after giving patient hearing to the public issues and grievances redressed scores of the grievances on spot. He also appreciated and complimented people for their proactive participation in Block Diwas functions for highlighting the issues and grievances for redressal.
Block Diwas functions were also held at Devsar and Kulgam blocks where ADDC and ADC remained available and listened to the issues and grievances of people for redressal.
