Kishtwar : Weekly block Diwas proceedings were Wednesday held here at block Thakarie. District Development Commissioner Ashok Sharma listened to the issues of the publicin presence of BDC Chairperson, KishoriLal Shan; DDC member ThakrieSharifa Begum; Assistant Commissioner Development, AtulDutt Sharma; BDO ThakrieSonikaParihar and other concerned Officers, Sarpanchs, Panchs. A large number of locals participated in the programme.
The BDC Chairperson, PRI members and locals projected a range of demands/issues mainly related to the up-gradation of public Infrastructure for better amenities.
The team of Officers redressed several grievances on the spot. The DDC Kishtwar assured them that rest of grievances will be taken up with the concerned officers/Authorities for timely resolution.
Meanwhile DDC Kishtwar also conducted an interactive meet with the local PRIs and reviewed the functioning of three-tier system of Panchayat Raj Institutions in the area.
PRIs apprised him of many issues and appealed for soft intervention.
DDC Kishtwar assured of full support from the District administration.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC urged the PRIs to be torchbearers for youth and supplement the efforts of the government by motivating them to take benefits of self-Employment schemes.
He stressed for the effective implementation of One District One Product scheme in the district, which can produce fruitful results in Employment generation by tapping the agriculture and allied sector potential.
Besides, he urged the PRIs to strengthen the women Self Help Groups to ensure empowerment of the women.
He also exhorted upon the PRI and Rural Development Department functionaries to work in tandem for early start and completion of Panchayat Level Works.
He urged the PRIs to monitor the pace and quality of the works to ensure transparency at grassroots level.
Referring to the effective implementation of the ambitious JalJeevan mission in the block, he solicited the PRIs to chalk out a comprehensive Action plan to provide tap water to left out habitations by Aug 2022.
