DC Kathua holds Public Grievances Redressal camp at Bani

Kathua : To bring Administration at the doorsteps of people for on the spot resolution of their developmental issues, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav Wednesday convened a Public Grievances Redressal Camp under Block Divas at remote block Bani.
The programme witnessed large participation of people from Lowang, Sarthal and other adjoining areas of Bani Tehsil.
During the proceedings, PRI representatives, Public delegations and scores of individuals projected the issues and demands of their respective areas, particularly the slow pace of PMGSY and BRO roads.
The elected PRI members, individuals and public delegations also demanded blacktopping of roads, augmentation of water and power supply, replacing of old electric poles, encroachment and other issues.
District Development Council Member BaniReeta Thakur highlighted the issue of pending macadamization work on Sarthali-Beacon road. She also demanded construction of Bridge near Mela ground.
After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers.
He also assured the people that all the genuine demands and issues projected by them would be taken up with concerned authorities on priority. He said that the issue regarding slow pace ofroads will be looked into to ensure their time-bound completion to ease out the road connectivity scenario in the remote belt of Bani.
The DC also gave on the spot directions to the concerned officers for time-boundredressal of the public issues.
On the occasion, the DC asked the educated unemployed youth to come forward and take benefit from different Government self-employment schemes to earn a dignified livelihood for themselves and their family.
Later, the DC inspected the area near Thakurdwarda temple where a complaint regarding encroachment was reported. He passed directions to the revenue department to observe zero-tolerance against encroachment and called for immediate action against the perperators.
BDC Chairperson, SDM Joginder Singh Jasrotia, ACP SohanLal, XEN PDD, CAO, DFO, BDO besides other senior officers and Engineers of the District Administration were present in the Public Grievances Redressal Camp.
Meanwhile, ADC BillawarSandesh Kumar Sharma presided over Block Divas proceedings at PWD Rest House Billawar, while a similar meeting was chaired by the ADC BasohliTilak Raj Thapa. The PRI members and scores of people put forth their issues to seek redressal from appropriate authorities.
