Budgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Wednesday chaired a public darbar at High School, Arizal in Block Sukhnag.
On the occasion, the DC said that the Arizal area which is having panoramic landscape and vast natural beauty can be developed as one of the added tourist attractions in the district.
He instructed the concerned to work on area development accordingly to attract tourist footfall to the area.
Emphasizing on cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in the area, the DC on spot allotted a work project for construction of Segregation shed to a local contractor and instructed on speedy work execution on it.
He said that various JJM works have been approved to ensure improvement in the tap water supply to all the habitations in the area.
At the outset various PRIs, village elders and others respected from Arizal, HarduPunzu, Zanigam, Zugo, Ringzabal and other adjoining villages raised issues and demands with the DC and demanded timely resolution.
The issues and demands includes facility of fire service station, segregation shed, Katyali bridge connecting Arizal with Ringzabal early tendering, Arizal- Tangnar road macadamization, filtration plants, sanitary complex, tourist park, ration depot, widening of Waterhail-Arizal roads, up gradation of schools, improvement in HT, LT lines and health facilities, macadamization and construction of various other roads.
They also demanded facilities including dispensary, school infrastructure and ground facility for Middle School Rahkaye, protections and lane drain works in nomad areas, Sheep husbandry and Animal husbandry centre, and restoration and cleaning of springs.
The DC assured that all genuine demands shall be taken up with the relevant quarters for prompt resolution. He also ordered an inquiry and directed SDM Kahnsahab to submit a report on the dilapidated condition of Arizal – Gundshogtiplo road.
The DC called for the holistic development of the area and emphasized that work on all ongoing projects be expedited to ensure timely completion.
The DC said under JJM projects worth Rs. 1200 crore shall be executed to provide tap water supply across the district.
He further instructed Panchayat members to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in all panchayat blocks of Sukhnag and urged PRIs to ensure that people ensure ban on use of one time plastic items and dumping of garbage roadside and in open areas. He said that instead they use separate dustbins for proper disposal of garbage generated daily by the households.
Among others, SDM Khansahab, ACD, CEO, BMO, Executive Engineers from various Engineering Wings, district heads of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, BDO, DMO and other concerned officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
