B’la|April, 26: Police on Tuesday said that it has solved a theft case in Baramulla and arrested 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime besides recovering the stolen property.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said “Police Post Wussan on April 11 this year received a written complaint from Abdul Rashid Dar of Sultanpora Pattan wherein he alleged that during the intervening night of 10-11th April this, some unknown thieves barged into his cowshed and too away 20 sheep”.
Police in its statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan and an investigation was initiated.
Stating further that during the course of investigation, a special investigation police team headed by SHO PS Pattan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan was constituted and raids at several suspected locations were conducted and many suspects were called for questioning. “Investigating team after strenuous efforts zeroed in on two suspects namely Umar Farooq Dar son of Farooq Ahmad Dar resident of RakhAshamSumbal and Ishfaq Ahmad Yatoo son of Mohd Ibrahim Yatoo resident of Sultanpora Pattan”, reads the above referred police statement, adding “during questioning, officers learnt about their involvement in the commission of crime and on their disclosure all the stolen property was recovered and a vehicle TATA Mobile bearing registration number JK15B-1858 used in the commission of crime was also seized”, stating therein further that both the accused were arrested in the instant case and further investigation of the case is going on. “Later, the stolen property (sheep) was handed over to the legal owner”, reads the police statement further. In the concluding para of it’s above-quoted statement police resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities.
