Rajouri admin targets to restore 810 water bodies

Rajouri|April, 26: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal Tuesday chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the progress made in the restoration of water bodies in the district.
Officers who attended the meeting included ACD, Vijay Kumar; ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli and DSCO, Mohd Rashid.
The meeting was informed that 810 water bodies have been identified in different parts of the district for renovation to restore the original water navigation circuit in the district.
The DDC asked the concerned officers to start the restoration work on the identified water bodies after getting approval from Gramsabhas. He also stressed on ground water recharge by harvesting rain water runoff to meet the shortage in the water stressed areas.
The DDC asked the concerned departments to work out a comprehensive plan to revive all the water bodies in the district.
