KVK Budgam organizes one-day KisanMela

Budgam KrishiVigyan Kendra, Budgam in collaboration with Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Tuesday organized a one day Farmers Fair popularly known as KisanMela at KVK campus, here.The programme was organized as part of the Kisan Bhagidari PrathmiktaHamaari campaign under AazadiKaAmritMohatsav.Chief Horticulture Officer Budgam, Javid Ahmad, Head IMD SKUAST-K, Dr.SameeraQayoom, Chief Executive Officer Khyber Green Pvt. Ltd., Iqbal Mirza,  SDAO Budgam, Shafaat Ahmad Raja, officers of the Line Departments, Sr. Scientist & Head KVK Budgam, Dr. Nasir A. Dar and Scientific Staff of the Kendra attended the KisanMela.More than 300 farmers from different areas of District Budgam were also present on the occasion who participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.Around 15 stalls displaying different exhibits of agriculture and allied sectors were also set up at the venue.During the programme, Dr. Nasir A. Dar, Sr. Scientist & Head KVK Budgam gave a brief overview of theprogramme.CEO Khyber Green Pvt. Ltd. discussed the private public partnership mode of working for the benefit of the farming community and to address thechallenges of feed and fodder scarcity in the valley.Chief Horticulture Officer Budgam also interacted with the farmers. HeadIMD SKUAST-K gave brief technical inputsabout oilseeds to the participants.SDAO Budgam deliberated upon the different government-sponsored schemes in the agriculture sector.During the programme, 11 progressive farmers of the district were also felicitated with mementoes and certificates by the Kendra.
