DDC Shopian reviews Distt Capex Budget 2022- 23

Officers asked to ensure time-bound completion of developmental works

Shopian : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Tuesday chaired a meeting of District and Sectoral officers of different developmental departments at Mini Secretariat, here.
At the outset, the DDC enjoined upon heads of departments to float tenders for the execution of their works within stipulated time of 20 days which stand approved in the district Capex Budget, 2022- 23 and also instructed competent authorities including ADDC, ACD, BDOs to accord Administrative approvals of works within set timelines so that works are taken up as soon as possible, besides ensure expeditious preparation of estimates under RDD sector.
He reviewed works of RDD, Jal Shakti, R&B, Health, School Education, Irrigation and Power Development in detail, especially works of road connectivity, Housing for All, drinking water, health infrastructure, school infrastructure, electricity connectivity and irrigation facilities.
While appreciating all line department’s achievements of the previous year, he said, during the ensuing financial year, departments have to focus more and work hard to better the previous year’s achievements, and said, employees of all categories need to be more responsive towards the genuine demands of people, especially the financially poor.
It was stated in the meeting, that 1610 works shall be completed under UT component in the district during the year including 08 road projects under NABARD, construction of 435 houses under PMAY, piped water to every household, electricity to 4 uncoveredhabitations, allocation of which is about 92.40 crores.
The total planned budget of the district is more than 531 crores, comprising Regular Schemes (UT sector) and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
Detailed scheme wise review of works under NABARD, Area Development Programme and MGNREGA was also done besides instructions were passed on to concerned officers to make procurement of materials from GEM Portal immediately for further provision to Gram panchayats.
ADDC, ManzoorHussain, Joint Director Planning, S. Es and Ex.Engineers of R&B, Jal Shakti, Irrigation, CMO, CEO, AD Planning, BDOs were present at the meeting.
