World Malaria Day: Symposium cum awareness prog held at ANMT School Doda

Doda : To mark the World Malaria Day, a symposium cum awareness programme was organised by District Health Society Doda under National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, here at ANMT School Doda.
Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Mohd Yaqoob Mir presided over the programme, which was attended by Dr Aadil Hamid, Mohd Shafi Attu, Umar Anayat Khan, Roma Sharma, ZaheerAbassGattu, Incharge Malaria Basharat Ahmed Mir, I/c ANMT School Doda VidyaKotwal, I/c Planning Section Mohammad Ishaq, I/c Media Desk Faizan A Tramboo besides students of ANMT School Doda, staff from Malaria Section and CMO Office.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Medical Officer said that the aim of organizing this day was to make the public aware about the preventive measures for the control of Malaria.
Dr Mir asked the students to adopt the preventive measures viz keeping the surrounding clean, to wear clothes that cover the whole body, to use mosquito repellents, maintain personal hygienic conditions to minimize the possibilities of spreading malaria in their respective areas.
District Epidemiologist Dr Umar Anayat Khan also delivered a valuable & knowledge filled lecture on the importance of this day and made the participants aware about their responsibilities regarding the programme.
As many as 10 ANMT School students participated in the symposium and painting competition followed by a group song on health awareness.
The participants were awarded with prizes by CMO Doda and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
Paramedical Student Menu Sharmaconducted the proceedings of the programme.
Later, an awareness rally was flagged off by CMO from CMO Office to commemorate World Malaria Day.
Meanwhile, the day was also observed in all Medical Blocks viz Assar, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Ghat and Thathri on the theme, “Harness Innovation to Reduce the Malaria Disease Burden and Save Lives”.
