SMC Comr reviews measures ahead of Shab-e-Qadar, Jumat-ul Vida, Eid

Srinagar : A meeting of all wards was held here at central office Karan Nagar under the Chairmanship of Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan to review and discuss various measures to be taken ahead of Shabe Qadar, Jumait ul Vidah and Eid ul Fitr.
Meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner Adm Riyaz Ahmed Shah, Joint Commissioner Adm Syed Abul Qasim, Secretary SMC Mudasir Hussain Chaudhary, Municipal Veterinary Officer Dr Tawheed, Chief Sanitation Officer Nazir Ahmed Baba, Chief Revenue Officer/ Chief Enforcement Officer Suhail Chintsaz, Chief Anti Encroachment Officer Mudasir Banday, Exn Electric Ishtiyaq Ahmed Shah and all the Enforcement Officers , Zonal Santitaion Officers and ward officers.
Commissioner SMC directed the concerned to launch round the clock sanitation drives across the city with a special focus on Shabe Qadar, Jumait Ul Vidah and Eid-ul-fitr.
He said to launch upgraded Sanitation at various shrines, mosques including Peer Dastagear Sahib, Jamia Masjid, Hazratbal ,Nakshband sahib, and other religious places ahead of Shabe Qadar and Eid-ul-Fitr so that the worshippers thronging to these religious places shall be well facilitated.
The adjoining areas lanes, by lanes connecting to these religious places and all other areas shall be properly taken care of with a qualities sanitation.
He further stressed that all the machinery including hopper vehicles, sweeping machines shall be pressed into service and the religious places be well fumigated with disinfectants and other necessary arrangements to be looked into for the upcoming festival of EID-UL-Fitr.
While stressing on street lights Athar said that all the defunct street lights shall be made functional and a recce be conducted in all the wards for urgent requirment of more street lights to be installed at important public places including mosques, shrines, and other religious places, graveyards, markets and other urgent locations for public convenience.
All the defunct street lights needs to be immediately reported and get it repaired said Athar.
Commissioner further passed on direction to conduct manual cleaning of drains in all wards of Srinagar City.
A special team of Dog catching squad was directed to be deputed at Hazratbal Dargah for curbing dog menace to avoid any inconvenience to the people on the occasion.
The ward officers were also directed to go for continuous grass cutting drives especially in parks roadside footpaths, graveyards and other urgent locations.
Ahead of Eid Ul fitr Anti encroachment drives and anti polythene drives are to be intensified further stressed Mr Athar.
Meanwhile status of anti polythene drives was also taken regarding which Commissioner passed on directions to conduct regular market checking for discarding practice of carrying polythene bags.
Later a detailed ward wise weekly review meeting on account of Revenue Enforcement and sanitation was also taken up
