ACB arrests Technician-2nd in the office of Assistant Executive Engineer, KPDCL Anantnag for demanding bribe

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (J&K ACB) on Sunday said that it has trapped and arrested Vinood Kumar Fotedar, Technician-2nd in the office of Assistant Executive Engineer, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, Anantnag for demanding and accepting bribe of ₹25,000/- for processing Power agreement case.
In a statement issued on Sunday, J&K ACB said “a complaint was received where in it was alleged that Vinod Kumar Fotedar, Technician-2nd posted in the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (PDD), Anantnag is demanding bribe of ₹25,000 for processing Power agreement case of complainant”, adding that “the complainant alleged that he is an owner of Poultry farm and he has to make Power consumption agreement for which he had appliedand concerned had visited the spot also and demanded ₹25,000 as bribe”.
Stating further that upon receiving the instant complaint, prima facie offence U/S 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 was found made out. And consequently a case FIR No. 07/2022 was registered in PS ACB Anantnag and investigation taken-up.
J&K ACB in it’s statement furthrt said that during the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted which caught red-handed Vinod Kumar Fotedar, Technician-2nd posted inthe office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, Anantnag, while demanding and accepting the bribe of ₹25000/- from the complainant, stating therein further that the above bammed AEE, KPDCL was arrested on the spot by the ACB team. “The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses and Further investigation is going on”, statement reads further.
