B’pora: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, who is also the Chairperson District Disaster Management Authority, Bandipora and with the aim to aware general public regarding flood and its consequences, State Disaster Response Force component Bandipora Saturday conducted a mock drill exercise and staged a flood preparedness mock drill in Wullar Lake at LaharwaporaGhat, here.
The mock drill was conducted under the supervision of ASI Farooq Ahmad of SDRF component Bandipora.
Revenue officials and voluntary home guards participated in the mock drill.
Different activities including public evacuation from flood areas, boat capsizing, drowned victim searching and evacuation by deep divers, first aid for drowned victims, CPR method and transportation of victims was demonstrated in the exercise.
Officials informed that mock exercises on various rescue operations are performed to ensure the public is made aware ofdisaster management plans, immediate mitigation efforts and effective preparedness and responses of Rapid Action Forces during times of disasters.
