Kupwara : On the directions of ADC Handwara, TehsildarHandwara, Shahbaz Ahmad Akhoon along with team of officers Saturday conducted a market checking drive in various markets of Handwara town to check the price line of essential commodities and adherence of food safety standards by shopkeepers.
During the drive, a fine of Rs 5400 was imposed on 15 erring shopkeepers, besides, 7kg polythene was also destroyed on the spot.
On the occasion, Tehsildar warned the erring shopkeepers to desist from indulging in any unlawful trading practice. He also directed all shopkeepers and business establishments to keep the rate list visible.
