Shopian : The Department of Youth Services and Sports Saturday organised Inter School District level (ISDL) competition in the discipline of ‘Carrom’ U-19 years Boys at Mini Secretariat, here.. The Tournament was inaugurated by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Shopian, Gurmukh Singh Dutta.
Activity Incharge, Riyaz Ahmad Wachkoo and other officers and officials of Youth Services and Sports Department were also present.
Earlier, DYSSO Shopian interacted with students and gave a brief description about the benefits of carrom.
Dutta said that the game helps children to develop social skills such as communication, sharing, waiting, taking turns, and enjoying the company of others in the game by playing Carrom board.
