Div Com (K) reviews arrangements for Shab e Qadir, Jummat ul Vidda, Eid ul Fitr

Srinagar : The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole Saturday reviewed the arrangements for forthcoming auspicious occasions of Shab e Qadir, Jummatul Vida and Eid ulFitr in a meeting with officers of different line departments.
The meeting was attended by the officers of civil administration and policeof all districts besides representatives of line departments including PHE, PDD, Health, ULB, SMC, Fire & Emergency, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, FCS&CA, Food & Drug organization, Legal Metrology and other departments.
On the occasion, Div Com reviewed availability of drinking water, power, meat, poultry, ration and LPG in the valley besides other essential items in markets.
The meeting was informed that a sufficient quantity of essential items including ration, meat and chicken besides LPG gas is available for public consumption.
Meanwhile, Div Com directed officers to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity at peak hours. Besides exhorted concerned officers of FCS&CA to distribute ration for the month of May before 2nd May.
He directed PDD to divert commercial and industrial power for domestic use during peak hours and auspicious days owing to unprecedented shortage of power supply.
Besides, he appealed to the general public not to use crude electric gadgets to save power during these unprecedented times.
He directed concerned to conduct sanitation and cleaning drives at Mosques and Shrines.
Regarding transport facility to the devotees who throng to HazratbalDargah for congregational prayers, Div Com directed SRTC to ensure that devotees don’t face any inconvenience on those days.
Further, he emphasized on intensive market checking drives to check illegal profiteering, overcharging and hoarding by traders. He directed to lodge FIR against shopkeepers and traders who indulge in illegal activities.
Also, he asked the health department to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in the interior premises of HazratbalDargah, Mosques and Shrines. Besides, he also asked Fire and Emergency to position fire tenders at the important places to avert any untoward incidents.
Moreover, he asked SSP Traffic to streamline traffic inthe DownTown area to end recurring traffic jam which irks commuters and causes inconvenience to general public.
