Health Mela organised at Sedow, Shopian

Shopian In order to sensitise the people about the importance of health and well-being and to bring health facilities at their door steps, a Mega Health cum Awareness Mela was Thursday organised at Medical Block Sedow of Shopian.
The Health Mela was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer Shopian, Dr. Arshad HussainTak and Tehsildar Shopian Fida Mohammad in presence of Block Medical Officer Shopian, Mela had the participation of senior health functionaries and officers from Drug Control organization, Rural Development Department and other line departments.
The Health Camp organised by Block Medical Officer, Health Department Shopian in collaboration with other stakeholders aimed to provide health education and awareness regarding early diagnosis besides providing Healthcare services free of cost.
Consultants and Diagnostic services were also provided to more than 1500 people of Sedow and its adjoining areas. The people were also provided some public services including distribution of SEHAT Cards, Job Cards, Farming tools and other equipment among the identified beneficiaries.
On the occasion, CMO highlighted the aim of conducting these Health Melas. He said that the Health Melas will be beneficial in providing wellness awareness among the masses besides preventive measures for diseases along with healthcare services for early detection and their treatment and to provide free health Diagnosis and other public services to the people.
CMO emphasised the officers of the line departments to mobilise the local population in other Medical Blocks to make these Health Melas meaningful and purposeful so that general masses are fully benefitted.
