Health Mela hosted at SDH Marh

Doctors provide varied services to visitors

Jammu : A free Block Health Mela cum Awareness Programme was organized Thursday at Sub District Hospital Marh under the guidance of Director General JK and Director Health Services Jammu Dr.Saleem-ur-Rehman, Mission Director NHM JKChoudhary Mohammad Yasin and Chief Medical Officer Jammu Dr.J.P Singh.
The camp was inaugurated by Block Development Council (BDC) Chairman Surinder Kumar, in presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate Marh, Block Development Officer, Marh, TehsildarMarh, CDPO Marh, Medical Officers, PRIs and other prominent citizens of the area. A female child was honoured under “BETI BACHAO BETI PADAO” by the BDC Chairman & the team (PRI).
A welcome song highlighting the activities/role being played by the ASHA Workers with the support of Block Asha Coordinator and ASHA Facilitators regarding the various National Heal Programmes like BetiBachaoBetiPadao,Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,Breastfeeding was alsp presented on the occasion.
During the camp, around 1512 patients were examined by the doctors for various ailments. They were also screened for diabetes and hypertension. The main focus of the camp was TB Elimination Programme, Several Separate counters were set-up for General OPD, Ortho, ENT,Surgical,Pediatrics,Gynae,Dermatology,Dental, and Psychiatrist,Ayush,NCD screening, Family Planning and COVID-19 vaccination.
Besides free investigations, patients were also provided free medicines. A counter was also set up for generating on-spot Ayushman Golden Cards, Aadhar Cards, Shram cards etc by the khidmat centre/CSC Karloop.
Moreover, several other departments viz Youth Services & Sports, ICDS, Food safety etc displayed their schemes meant for people through stalls. The Food safety departments issued 25 food registration licenses to the beneficiaries.
Block Medical Officer Marh, Dr.ManoharLalRana apprised the people present on the occasion of various Health schemes.
