DDC Kupwara approves AAP under DCB

Chairman hopes holistic dev out of new plan of Rs 117 Cr

Kupwara : A joint meeting of Kupwara Administration and PRIs with regard to finalization of Annual Action plan (AAP) under District Capex Budget (DCB) 2022-23 was held here Thursday at DC office Kupwara under the Chairmanship of Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori.
The Vice-Chairman DDC Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, DDC Members, Chairpersons of Block Development Council, PRIs were present in the meeting.
The Additional District Development Commissioner who is also CEO of the Council, Altaf Ahmad Khan, ADC Kupwara, Gh. Nabi Bhat, Superintendent Engineers, District and Sectoral Officers attended the meeting.
The main objective of the meeting was to put the Annual Action plan under District Capex Budget 2022-23 of the district before Council for discussion and authorization, prior to its submission to the Finance Department J&K for approval and funding.
It was given out in the meeting that the Lt. Governor J&K, during the course of the Video conference, desired that the Capex Budget 2022-23 shall be immediately submitted for approval and funding.
Addressing the meeting, the Chairman DDC said that the new plan will pave the way for the holistic development of the district, covering all priority sectors. He hoped that tourism would get a boost during the current financial year.
The Vice-Chairman DDC stressed the need for completion of all on-going works and hoped that this year’s development plan will usher a new way of peace and prosperity in the district.
The DDC Members and BDC chairpersons also spoke on the occasion and projected development issues of their respective areas.
Earlier, the Joint Director Planning gave the overall scenario of the plan and made the Council familiar with the plan details.
The AAP under District Capex 2022-23 (Regular & Area Dev fund) was placed before the District Development Council Kupwara for approval and the council unanimously approved the plan to the extent of Rs 117.14 cr for the financial year 2022-23
The ADC, GhulamNabi Bhat, Joint Director planning Abdul Majeed, A D Planning, Mohammad Maqbool and other concerned officers also spoke at the occasion.
