BGSBU holds “Shaan-e-Ramadhan” Event

Rajouri : Department of Islamic Studies, BGSBU organized Two-Day “Shaan-i-Ramadhan” program on 20th & 21st of April, 2022. The program comprised of “Qirat” and “Quranic Quiz Competition”. Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Akbar Masood, graced the occasion and lauded the Department of Islamic studies for conducting such kind of events. Prof. Akbar congratulated the participants and said that such events are important for the holistic development of the students. Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Iqbal Parvez, Registrar, Mr. Mohd Ishaq, Dean School of Education, Prof. G. M. Malik, Prof. Asif Hussain, Dean School of Engineering and Technology and Associate Dean School of Islamic Studies & Languages, Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum also graced the occasion . coordinator of the Department, Dr. Naseem Gul, in his introductory remarks welcomed the guests & highlighted the significance of organizing such events. Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum (Associate Dean School of Islamic Studies & Languages, BGSBU), presided the program and thrown light on Quran and Ramadhan—the Month of Quran. Dr. Asif (Assistant Professor, Department of Urdu), Dr. Manzar Aalam (Assistant Professor, Department of Arabic), Dr. Ab Rashid (School of Engineering and Technology) partaken as Judges in the event. More than 20 students from different departments of the University and from different institutes of the Pir Panjal region has participated in Qirat Competition and more than 20 teams participated in Quranic Quiz Competition. Humaira Hameed (EVS, BGSBU), Zahid Ahmad Naik (DOIS, BGSBU) & Asidullah (Arabic) ranked first, second and third position in Qirat Competition, Rukiya & Manzoor (P.G. College Rajouri) got first position, Tabasum & Nazira (DOIS, BGSBU) got second position and Shaikh Danish and Shoiab Arshad (BBA, BGSBU) got the third position. Moreover, the program was partaken by a huge number of participants. The program was coordinated by Dr. Muheeb Ahad (Faculty Member, Department of Islamic Studies) and Dr. Sartaj Ahmad Sofi (Faculty Member, Department of Islamic Studies) presented Vote of Thanks.
