DDC Chairperson, DC inaugurate Health Mela at Lar, G’bal

G’bal: The District Development Council Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna Wednesday jointly inaugurated Health Mela and presided over Public outreach programme in block Lar, here.
The Health Mela was organized by Health Department Ganderbal andwas attended by ADDC Ganderbal, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, DDC member Lar, ACR, ACD, CMO, various District officers, BMO Ganderbal, School children, Asha Workers besides Sarpanches and panches of Lar area.
The Mela witnessed overwhelming participation of locals who availed the facility of free medical OPD diagnosis, tests and free medicine.
On the occasion, Health Department and other departments had installed over 20 stalls besides various medical specialties OPD stalls were erected for locals viz Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Mental Health etc.
The DDC chairperson and DC inspected all stalls set up by the departments and appreciated the efforts of Health Department for bringing Medical facilities to the doorstep of common people. They also enquired about the facilities and IEC material available for the general public.
During the programme, awareness was spread regarding various schemes offered by various departments and people were urged to take benefits of such schemes including Ayushman Bharat Health Card.
Speaking on the occasion, the CMO Ganderbal highlighted the importance of various centrally sponsored schemes of the health department particularly Ayushman Bharat Golden Card, JSSK, JSY, WIFS, PMSMA, etc. and appealed the local public to take benefit of such schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner while speaking on the occasion lauded the CMO Ganderbal and her team for their commendable job during Covid and completing the Covid Vaccination among different age groups on time.
Jyotsna urged the locals to take benefit of various schemes of Health Department launched with the purpose to improve their socio-economic condition. She also appealed the media present there to play their part in dissemination of information regarding various individual beneficiary oriented schemes particularly of Health among the masses so that benefits of such schemes reach to the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, DDC Chairperson and DC presided over a public outreach program as a part of weekly Block Diwas at Lar and listened to the issues and grievances of Sarpanches and locals there.
Sarpanches and locals apprised the DC about various issues related to augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, charging of Baba canals, dearth of staff, and other demands of public importance.
The DC said assured time bound redressal of all possible grievances. She also urged the PRIs to prioritize such works which are people centric and benefit the community while formulating development plan.
