Block Diwas held at block Qazigund, Khoveripora of Ang

Anantnag: Continuing the initiative of the government to bring governance at the doorsteps of public, the District Administration Anantnag Wednesday held a weekly Block Diwas programme at two blocks of AnantnagvizQazigund and Khoveripora.
At Khoveripora, the programme was attended by ADDC Bashir Ahmad Wani, BDC Chairperson, BDO, PRI members and the officials of the line department.
The ADDC stressed upon the officers to ensure cooperation with the PRIs to get the desired results. The people of the block Khoveriporaalong with the PRIs demanded for adequate availability of teaching staff in their schools, new water supply for Mattan, restoration of Shakras bridge, completion of Nambalbridge, protection works at Liddernallah, Hapatnardnallah, availability of Doctors at sub centres etc.
The BDC Chairperson besides highlighting the issues and demands of the area sought the cooperation of the allied departments in implementing the schemes and programmes at ground level.
At Qazigund, various demands of public interest were highlighted including water supply for Malikabad, Kewa and Sump for spring, electric poles, electric wire, widening of BonporaMalikabad road etc.
The DDC member also demanded restoration of water supply for the areas besides road connectivity, Snowcutter for Qazigund, MC protection works at Vethvethroo etc.
The representatives of the various departments viz Social Welfare , Agriculture, Rural Development etc gave detailed descriptions of the schemes in vogue like BBBP, MAS, PMAY, PMKSAN, KCC, PMMDY etc.
Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Gulzar Ahmad assured the public that all their genuine demands shall be redressed earliest.
The Block Diwas at Qazigund was attended by ADC, DDC member, BDC Chairperson, BDO, BMO, Sarpanches, panches besides a large number of people and concerned officials.
People at both places appreciated the District Administration’s commitment for bringing the services at the doorstep.
