Sopore: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in sopore and also seized the vehicle used in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that police parties from PC Rafiabad & PP Watergam led by DO PP Watergam at a checkpoint established at Ladoora crossing intercepted a vehicle (Maruti 800) bearing registration number JK05-7229 with two persons on board identified as Myser Ramzan Lone son of Muhammad Ramzan resident of Naidhal Rafiabad and Rayees Ahmad Sheikh son of GhulamRasool resident of Tragpora Rafiabad and upon checking 400 grams of charas like substance was recovered from their possession, stating therein further that the said accused have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 46/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation is underway.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
